Great Horned Owl - Mama and owlets

It was such a treat to get to see this beautiful little Great Horned Owl family today. I didn't know what to expect as I drove over to the park, but brought my telephoto lens and camera just in case! I saw the little owlet above first, and then a former coworker I ran into at the park (yay Dawn!) helped me find mama owl and the other owlet. She also showed me their nest down the hill. Her instagram stories inspired me to go to this park to see the owls in the first place, so I feel like all of the credit for this mini-expedition belongs to her!

I definitely want to go back and bring my tripod. Photographing wildlife is challenging for me. This kinds of opportunities don't pop up every day. I can't wait to do it more this year!
