Mt Erie Climbing 6/27/22

We were up on Erie all day last week. It started off a bit gloomy, but turned into a gorgeous day with perfect temps. We practiced some skills first and then climbed a few routes.

Anyone can get to this view, by the way - you can drive right up to the summit. There's parking up there, a picnic table or two, and a few different lookouts.

For many of the routes, it made more sense to rappel down to set the rope. I think the first few routes we did were trad, so we had to throw the rope down from the top instead of lead climbing the route (simply because that wasn't an option without any places to clip in).. We don't have trad gear.

Climbing outside is much harder than climbing inside at a gym. Every time we go outside, I'm humbly reminded of this.
